Kopi memegang tempat penting dalam budaya masyarakat Manggarai dan dikonsumsi dalam berbagai kesempatan, baik pertemuan informal maupun formal. Jumlah Petani dan Produksi:

Sekitar 80% keluarga petani di Manggarai menanam kopi , meskipun seringkali sebagai tanaman di halaman belakang rumah daripada budidaya intensif.

Perkebunan kopi robusta mencakup sekitar 17.419 hektar dengan volume produksi yang diperkirakan sekitar 4.492 ton per tahun.

Perkebunan kopi arabika mencakup sekitar 5.769 hektar dengan volume produksi sekitar 1.241 ton per tahun.

Khususnya di Kabupaten Manggarai Timur , terdapat sekitar 3.790 hektar perkebunan kopi Arabika dan 13.167 hektar perkebunan kopi Robusta , yang menghasilkan ribuan ton setiap tahunnya.

Kopi terutama ditanam di ketinggian antara 300 hingga 1800 meter, tergantung pada jenisnya. Robusta umumnya ditanam di ketinggian yang lebih rendah (300–600 m), sedangkan kopi kami, Arabica, dipanen di ketinggian yang lebih tinggi (hingga 1800 m).
